080: Was Jesus Born on April 6th?

JesusBirthdaySection 20 verse 1 of the Doctrine and Covenants says ” The rise of the Church of Christ in these last days, being one thousand eight hundred and thirty years since the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the flesh, it being regularly organized and established agreeable to the laws of our country, by the will and commandments of God, in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month which is called April”

This has throughout Mormonism’s history been interpreted as signifying the birth of Christ. We have several quotes by leaders including a recent comment by Elder Bednar from the April 2014 Conference. But is this the only way to see this issue and do other interpretations hold more weight? We examine this question and more in this week’s episode.
