Radio Free Mormon: 082: Daniel Peterson Defends His Honor

RFM having seen Dan Peterson post not one but two blog posts in response to RFM episode #69, revisits Dan obfuscation around having been dishonest about the suppression of First Vision accounts and how Dan is trying to help his loyal followers make sense of his words.

    1. I fully agree with you on this one, the Anointed FAIRisees and Leaders are obsessed to the point of constantly lying and demanding no accountability for their holy entitlement. Pathological lying is a terrible obsession, especially in the name of Christ.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works (and deceived for You)?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 ¶ Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
32 …there shall be churches built up that shall say: Come unto me, and for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins.
9- Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen?
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:

3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi (Bishop, SP, Elder, President…).

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

  1. Next ending song to Daniel Peterson podcast ought to be “Oh Danny boy”, perhaps the version that would be fitting would be the one that was played at Gordon B. Hinckley’s funeral.

  2. RFM: Maybey I don’t understand but wasn’t the 1835 account also suppressed by the church’s Historian Office?

After this “strange” account came to light, a Mormon Seminary teacher
told us (Sandra) that there was still another account of the First Vision which the Mormon leaders were suppressing. To our great surprise, this second account was published in the Autumn, 1966, issue of Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought.
