  1. Scott, the men who speak at conferences are not just men like you and I with human indifferences, they are men who claim to be prophets, seers, and revelators who speak for God. This puts their words on a higher importance level (good and bad) in the minds of the millions who put them at such high importance. Critics may not necessarily just be looking for mistakes and errors tear them down, but might simply care for the truth, and value whether or not these men speak truth and healthiness for many of their loved ones still in the indoctrination.

    1. Thank you for your comment. In my critiques, I attempt to remain as fair and balanced for both sides as I can. Even when I do present critiques, I do it with a positive critical lens. If my tone is antagonistic, then I will alienate believers and nuanced believers. Those that are still in the church are the only ones that can effect positive change in the organization.
