Emancipate Your Mind: 033: Protecting Yourself From Undue Influence

  • by

This week we’re digging into undue influence or mind control.

Because one of the bigger concerns I hear from people who have left high demand religion is the fear that they’ll fall prey to deception, misinformation, or undue influence again.

So many of us can’t understand why we couldn’t see the coercion clearly and actually believed we were operating from 100% free will when in the organization. And because we can’t understand how we got enmeshed in the first place, we’re worried it’ll happen again.

In this episode we discuss what undue influence is and how to help protect yourself or someone you love from being controlled in the future.

Knowing how to best keep yourself safe will give you peace of mind and will help you begin to trust yourself more, which will aid in healing from the indoctrination and control you’ve already experienced.

This knowledge extends not only to religious control, but control in interpersonal relationships as well.

This week I announced that I’m working on a tool that will make healing from religious trauma more accessible and affordable than ever. I believe that healing from religious trauma shouldn’t be a luxury item and should be accessible, affordable, and easy to understand for all.

But I’m going to need help to make it as useful to as many people as possible.
