If you’re afraid of what will happen if you let yourself feel anger, you’re not alone.
Most of the examples of experiencing anger we witness are unhealthy examples. We learned to become aggressive, passive aggressive, or suppressive with our anger from watching those around us and responding to what was rewarded and what was punished in our households as a child.
We developed our own patterns of dealing with this powerful, protective emotion as a way to keep ourselves safe. Like all behavior patterns, what may have worked for us as a child might not work so well for us as an adult.
In this episode, we explore how we developed our protective anger patterns and how we can move from those into more reflective and assertive ways of moving through our anger. _____________________________________________________________________________
